There's drama-llama in the office. One of the financial consultants is acting squirrelly and the manager thinks he's preparing to leave for another firm. To be honest, I'll be glad to see him go. The super duper apartment is a go. The landlord called and left me a voicemail, telling me she will have an apartment available late September, early October. I'll be within walking distance of the bridge that leads over into downtown Charleston, but will be far enough away that my place will be serene and crime-free. Louie is an attorney who does side work (trusts, wills, etc) for our clients on his day off, which is Monday. He came in this morning and gave me a box of Swiss chocolates from the yummy local store. I've talked for pages (almost?) about how I recently moved to a new apartment which happens to look out over a beautiful undeveloped basin. I figured out what the sculpture I spoke about in this entry is. I should have read the plaque at the head of the trail yesterday because it tells you all about it. It's a 5,000 pound, 22-foot solid metal sculpture by Ali Baudoin called Shrine to the Bear. It's supposed to represent a blade of grass (pampas?) that is used often as a symbol of ( Read more... )
